Ubercart—Ecommerce Module for Drupal CMS

Acro Media combines the Drupal CMS with Ubercart to create a superior online store that engages customers, keeps them onsite longer, and—by leveraging community-based tools—encourages their return to shop again and again.

Acro Media’s implementation of the Drupal-Ubercart online store features the following ecommerce functionality:

  • A catalog with administration tools to easily add, edit and remove products and their categories.
  • Single page checkout—all payment information appears on a single checkout screen, streamlining the purchase process.
  • Automatic account generation (anonymous checkout)—customers can buy without registering as members, because accounts are automatically generated using the customer's email address. Customers can specify account names and passwords at checkout. For efficient checkout, returning customers see their previously used addresses and are not required to fill it in again.
  • Customer accounts—once a returning customer logs in, the screen displays their order history (including full details of each order, order status and any added comments).
  • Simple order processing—process and track transactions with an easy-to-use order processing terminal via screens designed by and for salespeople. Control administrator access for the appropriate level of sales detail with assigned permissions.
  • Activity logging—displays any adjustments made to an order by an administrator, including payment processing.
  • Simple order creation and editing—easily add products and shipping charges on a single screen.
  • Integrated payment system—this bridges the accepted payment methods (check, credit card and COD) and the payment gateways. Supported gateways include:
    • 2Checkout.com
    • Authorize.net
    • Cybersource
    • PayPal Express Checkout
    • PayPal Website Payments Pro
  • Alternatively, the following contributed gateways require additional time to implement:
    • Beanstream
    • Linkpoint
    • Moneris
    • Payflow Pro
    • Skipjack
    • Viaklix
    • WonderPay
    • Worldpay
  • Inventory—basic product stock level tracking and notification.
  • Email notifications—automatically sent to customer and administrator whenever a purchase is made.
  • Reports—full access to basic product sales and customer reports.
  • Shipping—easy setup and control of shipping rules for each product. Setup and customize flat rate shipping fees based on destination, dimensions, weight and expedited delivery.
  • Taxes—setup rules to automatically apply appropriate taxes to each sale. Images—add multiple product images for each listing, including optional, expanding large format images that can best display physical details.
  • Product attributes—sell variations of a product through a single listing i.e. for a product available in 5 different colors, list the product just once with an option to select a color.
  • XML import/export—import products, attributes, orders, and customers into Ubercart from another store. Conversely, easily export these from your Ubercart store to another application.
  • Dynamic catalog browsing—uBrowser (AJAX technology) improves the user experience by removing the need to reload pages allowing visitors to browse through categories and products in a more fluid and efficient manner. Functionality optimized for up to 5000 products.
  • Newsletters—inform customers/members of new products, online specials and promotions via emailed newsletters.

Optional Add-ons for Ubercart

Ubercart is completely customizable. The following is a small sampling of features which we can add to yours:

  • Support digital products—sell music, audio books, images and other digital files by allowing access for download once a user has purchased them.
  • Discounts—offer a discount based e.g. on product purchased, buyer’s membership status, or order total. The discount—either a specified dollar amount or percentage of total purchase—is applied at checkout.
  • Coupons—serve up discounts in coupon form. If desired, limit coupons e.g. to the first 100 purchases of a product; to orders with a minimum dollar value; to purchaser status (e.g. regular purchaser vs. wholesaler); or to individual user account). Coupons can discount a percentage of the order total, or have a set dollar value.
  • Customer Reviews—customers can post reviews of your products and services.
  • Complementary Products—product detail pages can include associated products which a customer might want to purchase.
  • Recently Viewed Products—displays a list of products which the customer has recently viewed, so they don’t have to browse for them again.
  • Sale Prices—displays sale versus retail prices to communicate value to the customer.
  • Real-time shipping rates—Receive and provide your customers real-time shipping rates based on the product and customer criteria.

Secure Certificate

Increase customer trust and sales conversions with a personalized 256-bit SSL (Secure Socket Layer) certificate. A personalized secure certificate keeps customers under your domain name while they complete their purchase.

Securing transmission of financial information in ecommerce is currently the major application of digital certificates, commonly called SSL certificates. There are two main benefits of a SSL certificate:

  1. To prove your company’s (or your server’s) identity online and in so doing create a sense of trust and confidence in using your Web site.
  2. To offer protection of the data submitted to your Web site (or between servers) through the use of encryption. Should any information be intercepted, it will be unintelligible without the unique decryption key.

All ecommerce driven sites require a SSL certificate. SSL certificates must be validated by a trusted third party, an independent business that checks the certificate holder’s background.
